Insight: SPAM is the perfect food item to send to space because it doesn’t have an expiration date, is canned, and is a great food for survival.
That’s right, we’re sending SPAM to Mars. At least we’re pretending to, we’ll let conspiracy theorists debate that one. The ingredients of canned SPAM and it’s never expiring nature makes it a perfect contestant to hurdle into space. When humans finally land on Mars they’ll have a delicious meal waiting for them. The next space race is upon us and SPAM is going to win, even if there’s some bumps along the way. For all SPAMkind.
This will take place in three phases: Launch, Orbit, and Landing
Mockumentary (Launch)
This mockumentary follows the scientists, astronauts and SPAM historians that have embarked on this journey to send SPAM to Mars. The science and research really isn’t that impressive, but it sure is funny.
Launch day stunts (Launch)
Air balloons will embark all over America to simulate the beginning of the SPAM Space Mission.
Space spam can cam (orbit)
During the several month space trip, many people might be curious as to how the SPACE SPAM is doing. A “live stream” simulated video will be set up on the can where you can see it floating through space. This looping video may even have some cool things to like planets, meteors, aliens or the death star! Tune in daily to see new developments! There will also be social promos.
Merch (Orbit)
Lots of space SPAM-branded merchandise, including shirts, pins, and totes, will be available as souvenirs.
Video Spots (Landing)
A traditional video spot and two pre-roll video spots will be shown.
Product Expansion (Landing)
Even though the mission went a bit differently than planned, Mini Spam saved the day! The new Mini Spam is perfect for people who want to try SPAM for the first time or those who love the novelties of space.
